As the director and head of the Corporate and Healthcare practices at WE Red Bridge, Maho Saito leads the team to identify insights, develop strategies, ideate campaigns, elevate brand storytelling and grow the practices. Saito is also tasked with introducing the agency’s Purpose offerings to clients across Greater China.
Saito has over 15 years of experience providing integrated solutions for consumer and corporate communications campaigns across a wide range of categories, including healthcare, technology, food and crisis communications. She uses her expertise to think outside “industry norms” to lead and advise senior clients, conduct high-level discussions, and identify clients’ next best move.
Saito began her career as one of the founding members of Ogilvy’s Japan office. While there, she led award-winning work for global accounts such as UPS, Lenovo, Ajinomoto and Clinton Global Initiative. She also led the crisis management work for Ogilvy’s Shanghai office across luxury, cosmetics, food and more. At WE, Saito’s drive has seen her navigate disease education and awareness campaigns for global pharmaceutical brands, win The Coca Cola Company’s corporate CSR retainer, launch the world’s largest genome cloud database and introduce home DNA testing solutions to Chinese consumers. She’s passionate about her work elevating communications strategies for cause-driven organizations such as B Corps and Patagonia.
Outside work, Maho is a mother to two children and aspires to preserve the environment for future generations. She is an advocate for sustainable practices and has travelled across 23 countries around the world as a volunteer interpreter on Peace Boat. In her spare time, she volunteers as a communications consultant for local sustainable organizations.
