As Insights & Analytics (I&A) strategist at WE, Thane Ryland bolsters the agency’s marcomms strategies and intelligence offerings, focusing on building an I&A specialism in the UK. Thane collaborates on a global hub of work for a range of clients with colleagues across EMEA and the US. He’s also instrumental in driving innovative approaches to WE research, measurement and reporting. Thane strives to “make the invisible, visible” for clients, working with various data sources to unlock the key insights and deliver business impact.

Primed with over 20 years of experience, Thane’s career began in wildlife, most notably as a grizzly bear researcher. Since then, he’s built a strong track record in B2B, healthcare and tech; his career has seen him work in-house at companies such as Patagonia, BBC, Nokia and Microsoft. Thane’s work has also taken him agency-side; he’s won industry awards including the 2019 and 2020 AMEC Large Research and Measurement Team of the Year. He has also won various campaign measurement and evaluation awards from PRWeek, The Drum and the SABRE EMEA Awards. Before WE, Thane worked for three years as the executive director of Data, Analytics and Insights for Golin UK. There, he managed brand and marcomms intelligence for healthcare, tech and consumer companies in the UK, US and EMEA.

A North America and UK native, Thane spends his free time trail running with his family and the dog, cooking, or planning his next alpine adventure.
