Delivering Impact at WE’s Day of Giving
On December 5, 2016, on International Volunteer Day, WE Communications shut its doors (mostly) and went out to volunteer in our communities for our first ever agency-wide Day of Giving. From Seattle, to Singapore, and all offices in between, WE employees partnered with education focused (mostly) non-profit organizations to help out in school classrooms and after-school activity centers, organize and sort supplies and books, and more. Our long division skills, and memories, were tested when we helped kids with their homework in various after school programs, and we had a blast doing crafts and decorating ahead of the holidays.
WE’s agency-wide day of giving was born from our purpose driven culture. Finding ways to positively impact lives is core to our vision and values as a company. We seek to answer the question “To what end?” Giving generously, and setting aside time to make a positive impact on the world, are what sets us apart. We seek to fuse our work experience with what matters to us as individuals, so we offer meaningful experiences to our employees where they learn, connect, and grow. And, we support other parts of life that they are passionate about.
In all, 430 WE employees across the world volunteered more than 1,700 hours in our communities, which is the equivalent of flying from Seattle to Beijing and back about 70 times, but you know, without the jet lag. Donations and volunteer time benefited thousands of children and teens that the non-profits service.
