REMEMBERING GEORGE FLOYD

A Statement from Elizabeth Herrera Smith, Executive Vice President & Head of DEI

One year ago, the murder of George Floyd shined a light on systemic racism and oppression that could no longer be ignored, leading to a profound impact on our country and the world. As racial injustices continue to plague our country, including the hate crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community, we cannot let up in using our voices and actions to create a more just society.

As our Global CEO and Founder, Melissa Waggener Zorkin, shared last year, WE is committed to being an anti-racist organization. We do not tolerate racism or hate and stand in solidarity with all those fighting for lasting change. We know that commitment starts with action and accountability from each of us and our organization.

Creating the just and equitable future we all want will take sustained action from all of us. We must keep working to push this movement forward and ensure that we continue to hold ourselves, our government, and organizations accountable for being part of the solution.
