WE COMMUNICATIONS TAPS GLOBAL COMMS LEADER STEPHANIE MARCHESI AS PRESIDENT, HEALTH SECTOR AND EASTERN REGION

SEATTLE — Nov 30, 2016 — WE Communications today announced it has appointed industry veteran Stephanie Marchesi as president, Health Sector and Eastern Region. The newly created role reflects the agency’s continued investment in growing its global health business and fortifying its U.S. East Coast presence for clients.

Marchesi brings nearly 30 years of communications expertise to WE, including extensive global management experience and a proven track record in delivering creative, strategic results for clients that span the healthcare, consumer and technology sectors. Most recently, she served as senior partner, chief marketing officer and managing director of Global Client Relations at FleishmanHillard, where she contributed to record-setting revenue and led its global brand refresh. She also has held leadership positions at Cohn & Wolfe, Ketchum and MSLGROUP.

In her new position, Marchesi will be responsible for overseeing WE’s NA Health Sector, as well as its Eastern Region, which includes offices in Boston and New York, both of which are key markets for the healthcare industry. She will partner closely with WE’s other sector leads, Dawn Beauparlant in Technology and Tiffany Cook in Consumer, as well as be a part of the global health leadership team, alongside Shefali Srinivas and Bianca Eichner.

“Stephanie Marchesi is a powerful addition to our already robust leadership team,” said Kass Sells, president, North America, WE Communications. “She deeply understands our ongoing work with clients to engage key stakeholders in this rapidly evolving media ecosystem, as well as the opportunities ahead of us to use communications as a tool to improve health outcomes as technology continues to disrupt the industry.”

Marchesi joins the agency as WE’s Health Sector continues to steadily expand its prestigious client roster, representing one of the agency’s top three growth areas two years running. The agency now works with many of the top life sciences, medical device, health IT and pharmaceutical companies in the world.

“Throughout her career, Stephanie has seen firsthand the impact technology has had on healthcare,” said Melissa Waggener Zorkin, CEO, president and founder of WE Communications. “That insight, coupled with her proven leadership skills, will become an immediate asset to WE’s work with existing and new clients in using communications to propel their brands forward when operating within an environment that requires transformation.”

“I came to WE because I recognize the enormous value the agency’s independence provides its clients,” said Marchesi. “WE has demonstrated an ability to quickly evolve to meet changing client needs. This is particularly important in healthcare, where technology is beginning to transform the delivery of care globally. The impact for patients, providers and payers will be enormous, and WE is at the forefront of navigating the intersection of health, technology and innovation for its clients around the globe. I am delighted to join the impressive team at WE, to help build their health sector, as well as further increase the firm's presence and growth on the east coast."
