New Senior Vice President, General Manager Deepens Firm’s Expertise in Technology-Enabled Healthcare Solutions
BOSTON – Feb. 8, 2018 – WE Communications today announced the appointment of Stephanie Worrell as senior vice president and general manager of the firm’s Boston office. Worrell brings to the firm a breadth of experience across the technology and consumer sectors, as well as a deep understanding of health IT and the unique communications challenges of healthcare payers and providers resulting from tech-transformation occurring throughout the health industry.
Over the past 30 years, Worrell has worked with not-for-profits and a broad range of leading global brands including Albertsons, America’s Cup, Avery Dennison, ESPN, Evolent Healthcare, Hewlett-Packard, Micron Technology, Optimum Healthcare IT, Pacific Gas & Electric, Pacific Source and SuperValu. She was the founder of the award-winning Red Sky Public Relations, which she sold in 2013. Since the sale of the agency, Worrell has served as a senior-level consultant, leading the communication strategy at St. Luke’s Health System (Idaho’s largest healthcare organization) in the areas of IT, payer and physician services. Stephanie is currently earning a master’s degree from the University of Southern California in healthcare leadership and executive management.
“Stephanie Worrell is an accomplished communications counselor and entrepreneur who adds to the firm’s expertise consulting with companies undergoing complex transformation,” said Stephanie Marchesi, president, Health Sector & Eastern Region. “Stephanie is well positioned to lead our thriving Boston team, as well as expand our healthcare and technology portfolio in this fast-growing market.”
“Having strong leadership in Boston is an important part of WE’s strategy to be in markets where our clients need us most,” said Kass Sells, president, North America. “And Boston is recognized as the U.S. city best placed to capitalize on the shift to a digital economy, as well as a global leader in the health tech and life sciences industry.”
In her new role, Worrell is charged with overseeing WE’s marketing and business development efforts in Boston and New England, taking on a leadership role in the Health Sector and working closely with clients. She will report to Stephanie Marchesi and partner with other North America office leads, including Alyssa Garnick in New York, Melissa Havel in Portland, Matt Trocchio in Austin, and Steve Kerns in San Francisco, as well as with WE’s offices outside the U.S.
“I feel so fortunate to be at the right firm, in the right city, at the right time,” said Worrell. “I look forward to leveraging WE’s unparalleled reputation in technology communications and deep expertise in healthcare, to provide clients throughout New England and beyond with progressive and dynamic approaches to communications.”
