New Partnership Anchored in the Power of Values-Driven Communications

SEATTLE — 15 AUGUST 2022 — Lyft has appointed WE Communications (WE) as a strategic agency partner, the global integrated communications agency announced today. The hiring is part of Lyft’s overall effort to expand and uplevel its communications function as the company aims to drive a new wave of growth coming out of the pandemic.

“Lyft is a company driving ambitious change and we have a tremendous opportunity to show how Lyft is reconnecting people and improving communities,” said Dominic Carr, Lyft’s VP of Communications. “To meet this moment, we knew we needed to add new thinking to our already strong team; WE is the right partner for us to highlight our innovation in transportation and our commitment to people who are at the heart of our business.”

Lyft has maintained its singular focus on innovating consumer transportation. In addition to the well-known rideshare business, Lyft operates one of the largest micro-mobility networks which includes Citibike in New York, Divvy in Chicago, Bay Wheels in San Francisco, Capital Bikeshare in Washington DC, and BIKETOWN in Portland. It’s also helping lead the autonomous vehicle and electric vehicle revolutions.

WE and Lyft will partner together to shine a brighter light on the company’s product and innovation story, and help the brand connect with consumers in authentic and unexpected ways. WE will also work with Lyft to tell its business growth and transformation story, and highlight the positive impact the company has on society through programs like LyftUp and engagement on important societal issues. Last year, Lyft was one of the first companies to speak up against the Texas SB8 abortion law.

Across all this work, WE will deploy its Insights & Analytics team to help Lyft’s comms team drive new data-driven programs.

“We are thrilled to join Lyft and their world-class communications team on this exciting journey to connect with drivers, customers and communities,” said Bill Schultz, Head of WE’s North America Consumer Sector. “Lyft is not only a leading innovator in consumer transportation, Lyft is a values-driven company that aims to have a positive impact on society.”

The team will be led by Jamie Jang, as senior account lead, Lily Karp, overseeing consumer and technology initiatives, and Megan Mrazek across corporate communications.

Lyft joins WE’s client portfolio of consumer brands including Volvo, McDonald’s, Brother Printers, iRobot and LEGO Education.
