Scott Friedman to Join WE in Leadership Role Across Microsoft Account

SEATTLE — March 15, 2017 — WE Communications today announced the addition of Scott Friedman to the agency’s Technology Sector Team as executive vice president. Friedman will play an executive leadership role across the Microsoft account, advising clients and setting direction in partnership with the strong set of leaders on the business today.

Today’s news builds on several recent WE hires across North America as the agency bolsters its leadership across both the East and West Coasts, including the additions of President, Health Sector & Eastern Region, Stephanie Marchesi, and Seattle General Manager and Senior Vice President Matthew Ashworth.

“Today’s highly competitive technology landscape demands we are out ahead in delivering powerful communications campaigns for our clients,” said Dawn Beauparlant, president of the Technology Sector for WE. “Scott is well-versed in what it takes to deliver, with an impressive focus on brand building, narrative development and campaign creation. I’m thrilled to have him on board as a part of our work with one of the best-known brands in the world — Microsoft.”

Friedman brings more than 20 years of global communications experience, including extensive technology expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, as well as the development of audience-focused campaigns spanning developers to business decisions-makers in the enterprise space. His broad skillset includes brand positioning and reputation management, corporate and issues communications, and product and executive thought leadership campaigns.

“Across the communications landscape, no one understands the impact of technology across industries and audiences better than WE,” Friedman said. “I am excited to be part of a team that is synonymous with excellence, a deep understanding of the industry landscape, long-standing client relationships and innovative work.”

Most recently, Friedman served as founder and CEO of his own company, The Lede Agency. Before that, he held leadership positions at APCO Worldwide, Text100 and the MSLGroup, working with a wide range of brands, ranging from blue-chip companies to startups, and including IBM, Staples, Hitachi, eBay, BlackBerry and CTG.
