Boosting Childhood Literacy: BookSpring

Employees from WE’s Austin office are no strangers to BookSpring, an amazing organization that provides reading tools and creates educational experiences for children and their families, reaching over 40,000 children with over 140,000 books each year. Employees have been spending some of their 16 volunteer hours actively sprucing up and supporting one of the organization’s beneficiaries, McBee Elementary School, for 3 years. From McBee Elementary School leading a library makeover to, most recently, teams supporting kindergarten teachers: reading to classes, creating class projects, and organizing materials. The teachers have a lot on their plate, and being able to lighten their workload means they can spend more time with their students.
