INDUSTRY EXPERT JUDY GUO APPOINTED MANAGING DIRECTOR OF WE BEIJING

BEIJING — December 8, 2016 — WE Communications (WE) today announced it has boosted its leadership team in China with the appointment of Judy Guo as Managing Director (MD) of its Beijing operations.

Guo, former SVP of Hill+Knowlton Strategies has 15 years’ agency experience in integrated marketing and brand communications in China. She will join recent high caliber leadership hires David Hunt and Miranda Cai, as WE solidifies its commitment to agency growth in the China region.

“WE APAC is building momentum rapidly as we add brilliant talent to our ranks, and exciting new partnerships to our client portfolio,” said Matthew Lackie, Executive Vice President, WE-APAC. “With Judy’s strong consulting background, our Beijing operations will continue to provide best-in-class client services as she cultivates the agency’s current roster of clients in China, and ensures WE’s integrated communications efforts reflect the needs of brands in motion.”

Guo has an excellent grasp of modern communications in the region, gaining experience at Weber Shandwick and Text100 prior to joining Hill+Knowlton, where she maintained an impressive client list spanning the Singapore Tourism Board, Finnair, TripAdvisor, Tencent, Rolex, Schneider Electric and EHang. Both existing and future clients will benefit from Guo’s strategic counsel for developing digital integrated communications strategies and programs, which aligns with WE’s client-centric outlook.

“WE is an agency in motion and one that’s accelerating forward at a fast pace. I see great potential and this transformational growth is very exciting to be a part of,” said Judy Guo, Managing Director WE Beijing. “I look forward to supporting the stellar talent in the Beijing office, as we work together to deliver great work for our clients in China and continue to grow the agency’s portfolio and integrated communications offering.”

Guo’s experience with technology and consumer clients will complement the agency’s already thriving Beijing operation, in addition to supporting WE-Beijing’s list of existing clients including ZTE, BP, Honeywell, Cargill, Aruba, Autodesk, and Renredai. Based in Beijing, Guo will report to David Hunt, Managing Director, WE China.

Part of a new leadership transformation at WE in 2016 and beyond, Guo’s appointment highlights continued growth and ongoing momentum in the region and across the agency globally. Earlier this year, WE announced Alan VanderMolen’s hire, along with the appointment of Philip Channon and Michael Murphy, David Hunt and Miranda Cai in China, as well as the recent regional leadership additions of Emma Richards and Shefali Srinivas and the majority stake acquisition of Australian-based firm Buchan. These positive additions reinforce WE’s commitment to growing its global market share while continuing to deliver strong, impactful cross-regional communications for clients around the world.
