LONDON — April 27, 2022 — WE Communications (WE), a leading global integrated communications firm, today announced that Ben Fisher has been appointed to the role of Head of Healthcare, UK.

Previously Director of Scientific Engagement at WE, Fisher’s new role will have him oversee all health and pharma communications services for WE’s UK clients, as well as the agency’s Scientific Engagement offering. WE’s Scientific Engagement offering was established at WE in 2020 by Fisher along with UK director Terry Bradley.

“I’m excited about leading the continued transformation of the Healthcare team here at WE, supporting the evolving needs of clients and patients in an ever-changing health and wellbeing environment,” Fisher said. “I am proud to lead the talented and growing WE UK healthcare team. We pride ourselves on excellence in healthcare communications that moves people to positive action in health.”

WE has reported that its UK health revenue grew by 150% in 2021, supported by strong organic growth as well as new business within a growing portfolio of pharmaceutical and biotech clients. WE’s services in the UK include both health PR and communications, as well as scientific engagement and medical education. Therapy area experience includes oncology, diabetes, rare diseases, respiratory, ophthalmology and neurology. Health is a priority sector for WE, servicing health and pharmaceutical clients from the majority of WE’s 21 offices worldwide. Underpinning the WE health offer is an expertise in behaviour change and a commitment to improving the human experience in any health challenge.

“Building on the success of the past few years, I have every confidence in the continued growth of the healthcare team. The pace of change in health and pharmaceutical comms has been especially dynamic recently, but under Ben’s leadership I’m confident that the WE health team is more than ready for whatever comes next. With increasing collaboration with our international colleagues, working with clients in the UK and internationally, I am looking forward to the expansion of our service offer and our client base over the rest of this year and beyond,” said Ruth Allchurch, UK Managing Director. “Ben is ideally placed to take on this leadership position having previously held senior level positions in both PR and communications and in scientific engagement. As an already established and well-respected leader within our business, he brings great energy and vision to the role, which I have no doubt will help him achieve the ambitious growth plans we have for the UK.”
