WE Wins New Healthcare Account, Horizon Pharm

HEALTHCARE VETERAN CHRISTINA CORSO JOINS AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT IN RESPONSE TO ACCELERATED GLOBAL HEALTH SECTOR GROWTH
NEW YORK CITY – February 19, 2019 — Leading global healthcare brand, Horizon Pharma, has named WE Communications their new agency partner. This new win reflects accelerated growth in WE’s global Health Sector, which saw a 33 percent revenue increase over the previous fiscal year and the recent addition of new leadership, including Christina Corso as senior vice president.
Horizon Pharma chose WE Communications, following a competitive agency search, to support their investigational treatment for people living with active thyroid eye disease. The WE team will partner with Horizon to develop communications that support its pivotal clinical milestones, multichannel disease awareness efforts and educational campaigns.
To meet growing client needs, WE has nearly doubled the size of its U.S. Health Sector team over the past year, and expanded its leadership bench with the addition of Christina Corso. Corso joined WE in January as a senior vice president and is based in New York. Formerly with Marina Maher Communications, Christina has extensive healthcare experience and has worked with companies including Merck, Pfizer and Kimberly-Clark. In her new role, Corso will leverage her 20+ year career in healthcare and pharmaceutical communications to deliver on WE’s commitment to bringing progressive communications approaches to what has historically been a prescriptive industry.
“We are delighted to be able to attract top talent, such as Christina Corso, and to begin a new relationship with Horizon Pharma,” said Stephanie Marchesi, president of WE’s Health Sector as well as president of the firm’s Eastern Region. “Horizon Pharma represents the future of the healthcare industry, and as a next-generation healthcare communications firm, WE can help the company shape impactful stories that stand out in an industry undergoing disruption and transformation.”
“I came to WE to work with clients that are ready to break the mold in traditional healthcare communications -- to reach their audiences in new, meaningful ways,” said Corso. “WE is a leader at the intersection of where health meets tech, and I am excited to be a part of this team.”
