WE Makes Big Changes in Munich
AGENCY APPOINTS BIANCA EICHNER AS GENERAL MANAGER AND ADDS FLAGSHIP ACCOUNT TAKEDA ONCOLOGY
LONDON — Feb. 24, 2016 — WE Communications today announced the appointment of Bianca Eichner as general manager of its German operations and the addition of new client Takeda Oncology. Eichner has successfully led the Munich office as deputy general manager since 2015, managing a portfolio of healthcare, technology and consumer clients. Takeda Oncology joining the WE roster reflects the agency’s growing reputation — particularly in this market — for helping healthcare companies translate how their technological advances are creating real consumer impact.
Eichner brings nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare communications, including a background with senior agency positions at Weber Shandwick and SanCom Creative Communication Solutions, where she developed communications programs for leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. As general manager she will oversee business development for the office and expansion of the team’s integrated services capabilities, including creative and digital. She will also work across a range of WE’s German and global clients including Abbott Medical Optics, Astellas Pharma, Cramo, Teva, ZTE and new anchor account Takeda Oncology.
Takeda Oncology, one of the most well-known and respected global pharmaceutical companies, chose WE as its partner to help communicate its core proposition to key audiences across all channels, both offline and online, and through public relations, scientific relations, content, influencer relations and internal and external events
“We were looking for an agency that was agile, highly creative and able to understand the challenges we face in a fast moving German healthcare market. Most of all, we needed a reliable partner that sees eye to eye with us in an integrated way. WE was the clear winner,” said Katharina Geppert, Launch Excellence Manager Oncology, Takeda Oncology Germany.
With Takeda Oncology as its latest addition, the WE Munich office is steadily building its portfolio. Eichner continues to have an impressive track record of winning business, building successful teams and turning out award-winning work. She is already well-known to many of the WE EMEA team and clients, having worked closely with them on a number of joint programs.
“Bianca has already demonstrated excellent leadership skills and was the ideal candidate to embody WE’s ongoing transformation while expanding our capabilities so clients can truly experience the power of WE,” said Melissa Waggener Zorkin, CEO, president and founder of WE.
